Distance Learning Curriculum

DL Course Review Process and Required Documents - The Arts and Sciences Curriculum Committee has partnered with the College of Arts and Sciences Office of Distance Education to ensure that distance learning courses going through the ASC curricular review process move quickly and receive priority access to course technology and instructional design support.  This page helps you get started.

Distance Approval Cover Sheet Instructional Resources - This page is intended to be a guide for resources to support instructors' course designs, arranged by the categories listed in the Distance Approval Cover Sheet. Many of the links below go to the excellent OSU Teaching and Learning Resource Center, a cross-unit collaboration that coordinates university efforts to highlight key content for Ohio State educators, creating a user-friendly hub of curated resources.

Online CourseShare Initiatives - The ASC Office of Distance Education coordinates the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) Courseshare Program and the Cross Campus Virtual Collaborative (CCVC) CourseShare Program.

Guided Course Creation Program To Create New Online (DL, DH) General Education (GE) Courses - This self-paced, asynchronous experience is designed in modules that can be completed in as little as 6 weeks, or longer as needed. Program participants, with the active support of ASC Office of Distance Education Instructional Designers and staff, can expect to complete a syllabus and all other course proposal documents as well as make a significant start on Carmen design of content and assignments in preparation for teaching a DL or DH version of the GE course under development.
