Teaching Forums

Teaching Forums

The Office of Distance Education invites you to attend virtual Teaching Forums each semester, featuring panels or individual presenters including faculty, staff, associated faculty, and other experts, who facilitate discussions on key topics in teaching and learning, course design, instructional delivery, assessment strategies, and more. These forums are designed to foster a community of education professionals and provide a space for meaningful dialogue, reflection, and knowledge-sharing.

Each session lasts approximately one hour. All are welcome to attend!

AI as a Study Coach

A Research Study with Drs. Dusty Grundmeier and Amit Vutha

Thursday, April 16, 2026  2-3 pm

Deborah Stout, Department of Mathematics

REGISTER HERE!

Join Deborah Stout for an interactive forum on the cutting edge of classroom technology. Stout, in collaboration with Drs. Dusty Grundmeier and Amit Vutha from the Department of Math, is spearheading research into how students can use artificial intelligence as a powerful metacognitive support for students.

Rather than using AI as a mere answer-generator, this method empowers students to better understand and oversee their own learning processes. Attendees will  be equipped with resources to implement these strategies in their own courses.
