Irina joined the ASC Office of Distance Education as the Electronic Learning Development Senior Specialist in March 2025. Before joining Ohio State University (OSU), Irina spent over a decade working in the education sector in Nepal and the United States as an Instructional Designer and UX Researcher. She developed and delivered hands-on STEM content—ranging from robotics and coding to antenna-building. She also led EdTech product development for educational games and learning management systems, and created and led workshops on user-centric product development at Microsoft.
Irina is deeply passionate about empowering girls and women in STEM and actively works to bridge the gender gap through her leadership in Nepali Women+ in Computing and by sharing DIY tech content on her Instagram page, Girlytoolz. She has represented Nepal on several international platforms as a voice for women in STEM. She was a Global Women Asia – Women in STEM Fellow, an Estée Lauder Vital Voices Visionaries Fellow, and The Asia Foundation Development Fellow. She also participated in the U.S. State Department’s International Visitors Leadership Program, Hidden No More: Empowering Women Leaders in STEM. Additionally, Irina served as Nepal’s SDG Youth Representative at the United Nations Youth Summit and the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries.
